New Energy Nexus Indonesia Develops a Tailor-made Business Match-making Program for South Korean Climate Startups

Jakarta, 28 September 2022, as part of the Korea–Indonesia Future Industry Business Plaza 2022 organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea, the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), and KADIN, New Energy Nexus Indonesia co-organize a business match-making program for South Korean climate startups with an interest in the Indonesian markets. The event takes place on 28 September 2022 at the Fairmont Hotel, Jakarta. 

Sponsored by the Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Indonesia (KOCHAM), the program aims to provide partner search and identification support for selected South Korean climate startups with interest in Indonesia. 

There are 11 Korean startups from 4 different sectors to meet with more than 5 venture capitals as well as 20 Indonesian enterprises joining the event.

Waste Management

  • AIMT: Provides an eco-friendly cold chain packaging solution with world-class insulation/quality.
  • RECO: Waste Management One-Stop Solution, UPBOX. Manages the entire process from the site where the waste is discharged to the final disposal
  • SHECO: Contaminant image recognition AI-based monitoring and seawater area pollution recovery robot
  • SEIL: a trading company with its main core business in medical, health care, and beauty device

Plastic Polymer

  • ANPOLY: Development of Biopolymer Materials Using Waste Resources.
  • MEMBRAE: Development of Nano-Separating Membrane for Purification of Organic Solvents.
  • REPLA: Plastic foreign substance purity measuring device and plastic decomposing bacteria digester.

Energy Generation

  • KEVINLAB: Cloud and Data-Based Intelligent Energy Management Platform.
  • AEONUS: Electric Vehicle Battery-Based Mobile Energy Storage (ESS) ‘Indigo’
  • NANOOMENERGY: Machine Learning-Based Solar Power Prediction Platform and Balancing Control System.

Lifestyle

  • DAZAYO: Runs abandoned space renewal project utilizing abandoned houses and operates a co-working space.

More than 300 Korean and Indonesian institutions joined the event. Aside from the business match-making program, the Korea–Indonesia Future Industry Business Plaza 2022  also held Indonesia Future Industry Cooperation Forum 2022, Clean Energy Seminar, and Climate Tech Startup IR. 

 

Leading to the 2022 G20 Leaders’ Summit that will be held in Indonesia under the theme of Recover Together, Recover Stronger. The Embassy of the Republic of Korea and KOTRA intend to create a space for the two countries to cooperate by sharing insights and bridging opportunities, in areas concerning the three main pillars for Indonesia’s G20 2022 Presidency – Sustainable Energy Transition, Digital Transformation, and Global Health Architecture

Director General of KOTRA Jakarta, Lee Jang-hee, stated that KOTRA Jakarta acts as a bridge for South Korean companies and Indonesian companies to establish economic cooperation, especially in the fields of exports, imports, and investments. The COVID-19 pandemic has caused transformations in all aspects of business such as digital adoption and creating a sustainable economy.

“The aim of the Indonesia-Korea Future Industry Business Plaza 2022 is to overcome the challenges and obstacles that have arisen due to changes in the shape of the international trade and investment environment due to the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Lee.
