Top 10 Teams to Compete in Jakarta at [RE]Spark Climate Hackathon 2022

New Energy Nexus (NEX) Indonesia is organizing it’s 3rd Climate Hackathon as part of the [RE]Spark Clean Energy Festival. Building on the success of two previous hackathons, this year’s event centers around the theme “Clean Energy and Climate Solutions for a Decarbonized Indonesia.” New Energy Nexus invites innovators to develop solutions and address challenges across five key areas: Climate Fintech, Energy Access, Smart Mobility, Energy Efficiency, and Decarbonization.

Registration for the Climate Hackathon opened on January 19, 2022, alongside the press conference launching the [RE]Spark 2022 event series. To engage a broader community of innovators across Indonesia, NEX Indonesia is partnering with the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, KE[M]BALI, Indigo Hub Makassar, and the Energy Systems Program at the Sumatra Institute of Technology.

Following a selection process among 82 registered teams, 47 startup teams were chosen to advance to the next round, participating in a virtual Hackathon Bootcamp held across five regions in Indonesia.

During the Hackathon Bootcamp, the 47 selected teams participated in sessions focused on knowledge sharing, mentoring, and capacity building, all aimed at helping them refine their ideas and prepare proposals for Pitch Day. Pitch Day offered a dedicated platform for these startups to showcase their innovative ideas and business plans to a panel of expert judges. Following the Bootcamp and Pitch Day, the top 10 teams were selected to advance and compete in the Hackathon Demo Day in Jakarta!
