Energi Timur Nusa Power pitch at the [RE]Spark Clean Energy and Climate Startup Festival 2025
This event provides space for startups from different regions to test their ideas, build partnerships, and reach communities that often do not have access to clean energy solutions. Fifteen startups have joined a business mentoring program to develop small pilot projects that can be implemented on the ground.
“Clean energy innovation cannot remain concentrated in major cities. We want every region in Indonesia to have equal opportunities to contribute to and benefit from the transition to a low-carbon economy,” said Diyanto Imam, Director of New Energy Nexus Indonesia at Menara Danareksa, Jakarta.
The transition to a low-carbon economy presents major opportunities for Indonesia, from the creation of new businesses to the development of quality jobs. However, access to innovation and resources is still uneven across regions. According to data from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) of the Republic of Indonesia, the realization of the renewable energy mix reached only around 16 percent of national energy demand in the first half of 2025.
Increasing the use of renewable energy is important for Indonesia’s goal of reaching Net Zero Emissions by 2060 or earlier.
The festival features three main activities. The first is Demo Day, which marks the final stage of the KINETIK NEX entrepreneurship program. Eight startups will present their clean energy projects that are ready for implementation in various regions. Five winning startups will receive a total of IDR 1.6 billion in funding support.
The eight startups presenting at the [RE]Spark Clean Energy & Climate Startup Festival 2025 are:
- Difabike, a Yogyakarta-based startup offering three-wheeled electric motorcycle taxi services designed for persons with disabilities.
- Energi Timur Nusa Power, a Sumbawa-based startup focused on optimizing micro-hydropower plants in remote villages.
- Gawirea (Girls and Women in Renewable Energy Academy), an organization that empowers rural women through renewable energy education and entrepreneurship.
- Ikanesia, a startup from Bekasi and Belitung that converts fishery and agricultural waste into low-emission animal feed made from insects and microalgae.
- Kuan Timor Teknologi, a startup developing Atmospheric Water Generator and solar-powered desalination technology.
- NUSACUBE by PT Alana Green Electric, which offers appropriate technology solutions for producing ice and clean water using solar and wind power.
- Puleh Indonesia, a social enterprise that processes agricultural waste into premium organic fertilizer through standardized fermentation.
- Sumba Solusi Alam, the team behind PowerWells, an affordable solar power unit built from recycled electronic waste.
In addition to Demo Day, the festival features a showcase of clean energy and climate innovations from startups, as well as Climate Innovation Workshops that provide collaborative spaces for exploring climate solutions and developing sustainable ideas.
The [RE]Spark Clean Energy & Climate Startup Festival 2025 marks an important step toward a clean energy future for Indonesia that is just, inclusive, and sustainable. The festival also represents a symbol of strategic partnership between Indonesia and Australia to accelerate clean energy transition and strengthen local innovation capacity.
“KINETIK supports an energy transition that is shaped by local communities. [RE]Spark highlights real solutions created by Indonesian startups that are already making a difference in their regions,” said John Brownlee, Director of KINETIK.
The [RE]Spark Clean Energy & Climate Startup Festival 2025 is part of the KINETIK NEX program.
